Desirae Guajardo & Aidan Wolf Dietz

Married March 4, 2017

After a surprise midnightproposal, Desi and Aidan were eager to plan the wedding of their dreams and to finally become Mr. & Mrs. Dietz. About a year and a half later, on March 4, 2017, on a quaint Hill Country ranch, Desi and Aidan’s dreams finally came to life…

It was an early morning for the bride as she and her bridal party arrived at an on-site suite to get their hair and makeup done, while the groom spent the morning with his familyand groomsmen at a nearby home. All too soon the hours passed in the blink of an eye and both Desi and Aidan made their way to St. Ferdinand’s Catholic Church in Blanco, Texas. As the string quartet began to serenade the church, close relatives and padrinoswalked down the foliage aisle, followed by the bridesmaids in a neutral palette of off the shoulder gowns and the groomsmen in classic tuxedos, while Aidan stood at the altar in his Army mess dress awaiting his blushing bride. Then, the familiar “Wedding March” filled the air and Desi made her entrance with her father, looking exquisite in an Eve of Milady mermaid gown with encrusted jeweled bodice and a geometric feathered fringe skirt. Desi and Aidan took hands and Father Amador Garza, long-time friend of the Bride’s family, led the couple in a Catholic ceremony where the mothers of the Bride and Groom lit the unity candle, bringing both families together. Finally, the newlyweds shared a loving kiss and were presented as Mr. & Mrs. Aidan WolfDietz before they made their exit, with white rose petals and gold streamers awaiting them outside the church doors.

After the beautiful ceremony, guests headed to the ranch for a tented cocktail hour and enjoyed aguasfrescas and wild game hors d’oeuvres. Meanwhile, after family photos at the church, the Bride and Groom arrived at a nearby home with their bridal party and close family for a pre-celebration, where they took shelter from a rain shower. After the rain passed, Desi and Aidan lovingly posed for photos with the Groom’s family treasure – the 1973 Ford F-250 Ranger used in the film August: Osage County.

Sometime later, the newlyweds arrived at the celebration to see their enchanting reception for the first time. The couple was in awe of the English hay barn, completely transformed into a rustic chic and elegant affair, with blooming (insert flower names) billowing from the rafters, and a hidden enchanted rose for Desi’s love of Disney. A long wooden table dressed in green foliage and white florals and golden candelabras, with Chiavari chairs draped in initialed sashes, proudly stood center of the room, with surrounding guest tables. When guests took their seats for dinner while surrounded by soft candlelight, they were presented with soup ladled over nuts and fresh herbs. Everyone then enjoyed a delectable feast of chicken with rice pilaf and squid ink pasta, along with family-style servings of macaroni and cheese, the Bride and Groom’s favorite.

After the satisfying meal, all eyes turned to the dance floor where Mr. & Mrs. Dietz danced in each other’s arms to “Mean to Me” by Brett Eldredge, with a finale of showering golden streamers. Then, Desi’s father joined her and they surprised everyone with a tribute to his favorite movie, The Parent Trap, with the memorable handshake and a dance to “This Will Be (An Everlasting Love)” by Natalie Cole. Aidan then shared a special dance with his mother to Van Morrison’s “Have I Told You Lately” before tear-inducing toasts were given by the Maid of Honor, Desi’s best friend since preschool, and the Matron of Honor, the Bride’s sister who provided humorous inside jokes, bride movie quotes, and the same blessing from Desi’s own speech as Maid of Honor.

The Best Man offered his own words of wisdom with laughs and praise of Aidan’s heroic deeds, a lighthearted toast that gave way to the evening of dancing, entertainment, and fun memories. While everyone swayed and danced to music provided by a country band then a vivacious cover band, Mr. & Mrs. Dietz were happy to finally cut into their simple white confection, a masterpiece with fresh florals and sitting atop a golden swing, designed and created by Desi and her grandparents. Aidan was even more ecstatic about his whitetailbuck red velvet groom’s cake, à la Steel Magnolias, which he sliced with his military saber! Throughout the night everyone had fun catching the bouquet and garter, sipping on signature cocktails named for the Bride and Groom “The Counselor” and “The Warden”, and an outdoor photo booth with fun props that made every guest smile. When the celebration came to an end all too soon, Mr. & Mrs. Dietz made their getaway, and guests left with “Share a Coke with Desi & Aidan” Coca-Cola bottles in hand. The newlyweds took off for their Maui honeymoon the very next day, taking with them all the wonderful memories of their special day and the promise of new beginnings in their marriage.
