Jorge Resendeiz & Sergio Perez Vasquez
Married October 26, 2019
The moment Jorge and Sergio met in September 2018 they knew they had found the person to spend the rest of their lives with, and seven months later they found themselves happily engaged in Puerto Vallarta. Not wanting to wait any longer, a wedding with a hundred close friends and family was set for October 26, 2019. Already a wedding designer himself but at a loss of where to begin for their own wedding, Jorge called for the help of a friend, Pepe Zepeda, to help coordinate and design their dream celebration, which turned into a breathtaking wedding gift to the couple. Modern elegance filled the reception hall with black and white striped linens, fresh greenery spilling delicately over tables, and bold gold details and accents. Handsomely dressed in traditional black, the grooms were escorted down the aisle to their wedding ceremony, Jorge by his father and sister and Sergio by two family friends who represented his loving parents. Jorge dedicated a beautiful song to Jorge, “La Guirnalda” by Rocio Durcal, that expressed their relationship, and the couple exchanged vows and custom rings, and finally lit a unity candle as equal partners and husbands for life. The heart-warming ceremony was immediately followed by the reception with a wonderful dinner of butternut squash soup, filet mignon and Gulf shrimp, new potatoes and poblano pasta. Soon Jorge and Sergio were on the dance floor sharing their First Dance to “Eres Tu” by Matisse and Reik, and then Jorge was joined by his father in a tender moment as they danced to a Spanish version of “Dance with My Father” by Luther Vandross. Toasts of happiness, well wishes and memories were then given by friends of each groom, and soon everyone was on their feet dancing the night away in celebration of Jorge and Sergio. The grooms cut into their five-tier wedding cake in gold and pearl designs and filled with almond cream, and gave a new spin on tradition with a bowtie toss! The party did not end until the early hours of the morning, and even then the newly married couple did not want it to end. Jorge and Sergio continued their nuptial celebrations on their Cuban honeymoon, and are continuing to make new memories as each other’s husband.
