Rocio Rodriguez & Devon Edward Dodd

Married November 26, 2019

“When Devon and I were planning our wedding, we knew we wanted a simple autumn celebration where the centerpiece of our décor would be the venue, and we were lucky enough to have found such a gem at a gorgeous rustic location with a lovely barn big enough to hold our family and friends. A romantic color palette of wine, navy, and blush paired perfectly with our vision. The night before the big day we were joined by our families for a taqueria rehearsal dinner so that relatives who hadn’t met yet would be able to make acquaintances. Finally, the day arrived and Devon and I were beyond elated to finally tie the knot. While Devon was joined by his groomsmen, best man and parents as he donned his debonair navy suit, I spent time with my bridal party getting pampered and catered to. I felt like a gorgeous bride in my ivory lace gown with a wine belt tied into a bow below the keyhole detail. Our outdoor ceremony with a draped arch served as the altar for where Devon and I exchanged handwritten vows, mine featuring Harry Potter quotes conveying hopes for the future and his with promises of love, respect and support as my husband. With our Best Dog and Dog of Honor watching, we were finally declared Mr. & Mrs. Bodd, and we made our way inside the expansive barn where we enjoyed a dinner of carne guisada with rice, beans and tortillas. I was happy to create new memories with my husband, from dancing to Callum Scott’s “You Are the Reason” to digging in to our wedding cake with cupcakes making up the bottom layers, and finally ending the night with sparklers and a traditional tornaboda. The festivities long over, Devon and I headed back to the East Coast with our beloved dogs, stopping in New Orleans for our mini honeymoon before making it to North Carolina, where we just finished building our first home.”
