After dating for more than ten years our fairytale
wedding finally happened February 24, 2018. That
day in the presence of my family, and friends and
with our fur babies by our side we became Mr &
Mrs Israel Vela. I wanted every detail to be special and unique
and was so excited throughout the planning process. Thank
goodness for my wonderfully talented wedding planner for kee
couple had previously received some of their holy sacraments.

I spent the morning of my wedding day getting primped and
pampered in the spacious bridal suite of the stately plantation
style house where our wedding was taking place. Along with my
loving mother and beautiful bridesmaids it was a relaxing start
to a joyous eventful evening. I was overwhelmed with emotion
as I stepped into my exquisite two in one gown with detachable
skirt. An elegant piece by George Elsissa of Australia, the gown
boasted a delicate illusion neckline and sleeves accented with
beaded lace embellishments. The bodice was bead and jewel
encrusted lace in a form fitting mermaid silhouette with a
cathedral length train. Attached at the waist was a full ball gown
skirt also in cathedral length, with beading, lace, and jewels to
compliment the bodice, which I chose to wear for our ceremony.
I opted for a one-of-a-kind custom made headpiece by Maria
Elena Headpieces of Australia to which I attached my billowy
tulle veil. I chose to wear minimal jewelry, only my wedding
rings and a special gift given to me by my thoughtful husband
as we quietly prayed together, in that moment I knew that God
had brought us together for a reason. My sweet husband gifted
me a glistening pair of Tiffany & Co. pearl and diamond earrings
that added just a touch of sparkle. To top off our wedding look,
we had one more sweet accent that we showed off our couple
status, we both donned a pair of Christian Louboutin’s.

While I spent the morning with my ladies, Israel spent his with
the men in the wedding party, groomsmen, cousins, brothers,
and nephews all there to help him prepare for this big day we
had ahead of us. They got all dapper and dashing at the Hilton
Garden Inn not far from our wedding venue.

It was very important to us that our beloved dogs were a part
of our celebration, and had to search for a ceremony location
that made that possible, we settled on a beautiful church in
Weslaco. The altar was draped in white chiffon and blanketed
with roses and white hydrangeas. As the violins played our
ever faithful Yorkies paraded down the aisle before me. Then
as I stood before God, my family and my soon-to-be husband
I felt proud to be able to express my love in His house. We
exchanged traditional vows in a double ring ceremony our
dream of becoming man and wife had finally come true. We
exited the church with much jubilation and were whisked away
in a classic car to a private photo session with our wedding
party.

When we arrived at Casa Los Ebanos, we, our wedding party,
and photographers captured some fantastic photos of us, and
our closest people. Followed by our grand entrance to Halo
by Beyonce. The tent and décor was stunning. Angelic white
florals with abundant gold accents, it was just what I wanted,
“Simple Elegance.” The smell of roses, orchids, and peonies was
intoxicating and it felt like we were floating on air. We were
served a delicious plated dinner, and our guests were given a
sweet treat with a self serve dessert bar. Our decadent tiered
cake was to die for, covered in fluffy white frosting and accented
with touches of gold. The many layers of vanilla, almond, and
strawberry were delighting to the palate. The grooms cake was
a tangerine dream, in an adorable fishing theme, a nod to my
new husbands favorite pastime.

To keep our guests entertained we chose quite a few different
musical options, from the classic quartet at our ceremony, the
lively mariachis, an upbeat banda, a live band and the bumpin’
DJ that kept the party going all night. Our guests also struck a
pose in a fun photo booth with tons of kooky props, to capture
everyone’s festive attitude! We didn’t even need to have an
after party as our guests stayed late into the night liberally
enjoying libations, and one of our gifts were cute hangover
kits. When our night came to an end it was the perfect finale to
a spectacular day, going to sleep with my knew husband was a
dream come true!
