Saying "I Do" to the Hairdo

Saying "I Do" to the Hairdo

One of the many components of a bride's ideal wedding look is her hair, from hair lengths to hair types, a lot goes into choosing the perfect hairstyle for your wedding day. To make your hair decision easier, here are a few tips.

  • Look at Inspiration: There are a variety of hairstyles brides can choose for their wedding such as up-dos, curls, natural hairstyles, half-up/downs, and low buns. Each has its style, so look at which ones call your name and seem to fit your dream look.
  • Know Your Hair: Depending on whatever style you choose, you might want to consider separate things for your hair. For instance, if you want your hair to have more volume, look at potentially getting extensions.
  • Consider the Weather: The Rio Grande Valley is no stranger to humidity and heat, so know the weather beforehand. You may prefer having your hair in an up-do during the summertime if you're planning to have an outdoor wedding.
  • Visualize Your Hair with Your Dress: Decide how you want your hairstyle to compliment your wedding dress. An off-the-shoulder dress may pair well with a half-up/ down hairdo.
  • Factor in your Veil: Your dream dress look wouldn't be complete without a veil, but veils need a strong foundation to attach to as they are heavy. Try to choose a hairdo that'll allow for your veil to be attached securely.
  • Do a Trial with your Hairstylist: No matter what you decide to do with your hair, you want to make sure your hairstylist understands the look you want and can execute it to your liking. The easiest way to do this is to communicate with your hairstylist and try your chosen hairdo with them. After you do a trial, you'll both understand what you want to do on your wedding day.
