After a year-long engagement, culminating with the bride-to-be’s graduation from St Mary’s School of Law, the wedding of Alexandra and Cesar took place on a beautiful spring evening featuring a full moon. The much-anticipated ceremony was held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Brownsville, Texas, with the Bishops of the Dioceses of Brownsville and Matamoros officiating the sacred union. The reception was held at the bride’s childhood home, designed by the famed architect Herbert Johnson and known as El Monte de Rancho Viejo. The event kicked off with a cocktail hour at the hacienda-styled stables, where guests had the unique opportunity to see some of the horses and their tack, a nod to Alexandra’s family's deep equestrian roots.
Given this rich equestrian heritage, the venue was the perfect backdrop for their fairytale-inspired wedding. One of the expansive horse pastures was meticulously transformed to host the wedding festivities, even incorporating the horses’ jumps. It perfectly embodied the couple’s chosen aesthetic of graceful elegance. The decor featured a sophisticated palette of sage green and white, with abundant floral arrangements of peonies, hydrangeas, roses, dahlias, and white delphiniums serving as focal points everywhere around the property, creating together with twinkling lights, an enchanting atmosphere.
Guests were treated to a spectacular culinary experience, featuring a large selection of South Texas game meats and their accompaniments prepared on-site by a team of skilled chefs. Every detail was thoughtfully considered, from the hors d'oeuvres to the multi-course dinner, of quail, roasted pig, cabrito, and beef tenderloin; ensuring a memorable dining experience. The evening was filled with joy and celebration, starting with the traditional first dance, followed by heartfelt father-daughter and mother-son dances. As the night progressed, the dance floor came alive to the music of The Royal Dukes Band from San Antonio. Guests danced late into the night under the starry sky, making it an unforgettable celebration of family, love, and unity.
